Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools (£1,455 per eligible child) with the aim of raising achievement and progress made in learning by pupils who are at a disadvantage. Schools are challenged to close the gap in achievement between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.
Any parent can check if their child might be eligible for Free School Meals, which allows this additional funding to be given to the school. The criteria and application form can be found here:
Schools decide on the best ways to spend the Pupil Premium funding, in order to raise attainment for these pupils. St Mary's uses evidence published by the Education Endowment Fund, as well as other sources of educational research, to support the spending decisions.
